    Alberta, Canada (May 5, 2017): The Alberta New Democrat Caucus of the parliament, in collaboration with the Provincial Assembly, a historic statement was made in recognition of the Bengali New Year by Ms. Dennis Wollard, MLA, . It was welcomed by a huge applause of the respected legislators. Honorable Speaker of the House Robert E. Warner expressed his deep interest to the Bengali New Year.

  • MJMF Soccer on Remembrance and Independence Day of Bangladesh (News from MJMF) Tuesday, March 21, 2017

    On Tuesday, March 21, 2017 the Mahinur Jahid Memorial Foundation (MJMF Bangladesh Sports Club) organized a colorful Soccer Tournament on March 21st marking the Genocide Remembrance and Independence Day of Bangladesh at the Edmonton Killarney School premises. At the event 3 local soccer teams, the MJMF Bangladesh Sports Club, Bangladesh PressClub of Alberta (BPCA) and Bangladesh Heritage Museum met to determine a winner in the tournament.  BPCA and MJMF jointly won the championship by 2-2 goals in the final play.

  • Kicks for Support Charity Soccer Event (News from MJMF) Friday, May 13, 2016

    The players of the MJMF Bangladesh Sports Club are inviting the people of Edmonton to a sportive charity event in an effort to collect donations for the victims of the Fort McMurray wildfire. The sports event is organized by the MJMF Bangladesh Sports Club under the Mahinur Jahid Memorial Foundation (MJMF) in assistance with the Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA).

    On Thursday, August 6, 2015 the Mahinur Jahid Memorial Foundation (MJMF) has sponsored and organized a cricket match to celebrate the team sport. The event took place in Giovanni Caboto Park in Edmonton, Alberta, where 2 teams gave each other a suspense-packed fight for the Champions Cup. The players for the two teams represented each an organization, the team of BPCA (Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta), and the team of MJMF (Mahinur Jahid Memorial Foundation).

    Cricket Match An Event to Celebrate Sport in Edmonton The Mahinur Jahid Memorial Foundation is organizing and sponsoring a cricket match on August 6, 2015 here in Edmonton in memory of Mahinur Jahid, who was actively playing in Winnipeg's cricket team »The Bengal Tigers«. Mahinur Jahid died in a car accident in January 2012 in the city of Lloydminster of Alberta at the age of 27.

    On the occasion of the Bengali New Year Celebrations on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Pleasantview Community Hall in Edmonton, Alberta the Mahinur Jahid Memorial Foundation (MJMF) held an award ceremony to honour the recipients of the Ekushey Youth Awards 2015. The award nominees were announced earlier at International Mother Language Day on February 21, 2015.
